Solution heat treatment of stainless steel:
The solubility of carbon in austenitic stainless steel is greatly affected by temperature. When austenitic stainless steel passes through the temperature range of 400 ℃ ~ 850 ℃, high chromium carbides will precipitate. When the chromium content falls below the corrosion resistance limit, there is poor chromium at the grain boundary, which will produce intergranular corrosion and turn into powder in serious cases. Therefore, austenitic stainless steel with intergranular corrosion tendency should be subject to solution heat treatment or stabilization treatment.
Solution heat treatment: heat austenitic stainless steel to about 1100 ℃, so that the carbide phase is completely or basically dissolved, the carbon is dissolved in austenite, and then quickly cooled to room temperature to make the carbon reach supersaturated state. This heat treatment method is solid solution heat treatment.
